Enyaq Nightmare

Featured Replies

Skoda Enyaq 85X nightmare.

Brand new in June 24. I couldn't drive it until late June, early July but instantly had problems charging it up at home. The only way to charge it was drive 14 miles to our nearest "fast" charge machine at a McDonalds. After 700 miles various warnings came up on the dash but the last one said main motor warning take straight to workshop.

I had the car picked up by the RAC and take it to the supplying garage. They couldn't work on it so after 3 weeks it was taken 75 miles to a garage that can work on EVs. After another 2 weeks I was told the car was ready to be picked up. When I arrived no one knew what had been done to the car but someone from the workshop said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I started transferring my bits and pieces over into the car and noticed one of the rear wheels had been had been badly damaged and the tyre cut through to the strands. The garage denied all knowledge of the damage and using the car but it had done many more miles than it had before it left me.

After having a new tyre and wheel repair done I started to use the car again.

Lo and behold within a thousand miles it broke down with a flat battery (12V). This time the RAC recovered it and took it to another garage 60 miles away. They didn't know what was wrong with it but fitted a new battery and a JX1 module.

I thought a JX1 module was to do with the connections between the main battery and main motors but I must be wrong.

Anyway it was delivered back to me after a few weeks and I managed to do nearly 1700 miles before it broke down again with a flat 12v battery and handbrake not working and passenger seat not heating and various other warning lights flashing on.

It's got to the stage after the car being away for 3 months or more when I get it back I know it will break down again.

EVs are all well and good but the world isn't ready for them yet.

I would say its going to take at least another 20 years before the infrastructure is ready and at least 25 years before we are going to have the skilled people to work on them

Bonjour,

Hello,

I had the same problem with AC and DC charging. Twice, my car was immobilized. The 12V battery light was on and the car was blocked. The latter had to be repaired and transported to the garage.
After a long search (first time they were faced with this defect), they changed the high voltage module.
Since this change, I have not had a breakdown.
Hoping that this continues...

I'm afraid in England we don't have any mechanics who know anything about EVs
