Cruise Control Dashboard Light

Featured Replies

Hi:

I notice with direct sunlight at the dashboard that there is a light with the cruise control symbol but when i drive with cruise control on there's no light on.

Do you have a light on when driving with cruise control?

Thanks

Yeah, mine lights up when cruise is set. Not when it's powered on, just when it's set to a speed.

I've never noticed this. Will have to take a look tonight, is it hard to see in

daylight hours.....

Isn't the C/C light part of the spec change with the Jumbo box Aux socket?

It looks very like it.

I think it's a poor show not having a C/C light on the dash full stop along with the front foggies:mad: .

You can't see the entire light switch let alone if the green light is a little bit brighter than the others when they are on:mad: .

I think a C/C light would be a handy reminder but i'm not worried about seeing the foglight indicator TBH. Think about it, if you turn your fogs on then you know you have turned them on and the switch is designed such that you have to turn off the fogs when turning of the lights anyway. Besides how often do you need to use foglights anyhow. I've yet to encounter fog dense enough to really warrant their use

I get your point but it makes sense to have it on the dash in the same way the Mk.I Octavia does.

The headlights were so rubbish in my old Octavia that they were on alot.

But I do agree with you to a point, I haven't used the foglights at all yet and I doubt they will do much versus the xenons.

It's a personal thing really :) .

A bit off topic but while we are on annoyances: I HATE it when the water runs up the drivers window when you wash the windscreen! :D Especially after its been ruddy cleaned!

Ah, mine is a 06 new model elegance, with the aux connection, so that may explain it.

Sorry but what is the aux connection? Is it an aux input for the radio?

If so do you think that this have to do with the CC light?

Thanks

the aux facility for the radio is a known spec change for the 07 model range. It just so happens that the CC light has been added as part of the 07 revisions too.

Mine is Octy 2.0 TDI Elegance May 2006 and has no CC warning light at the dashboard. It seems strange that you don't have such an indicator to remaind you that you're using CC!

Does your car have the aux input in the jumbo box?

Bah, I don't have the c/c light on my 05 elegance tdi. :-( It doesnt mention

it in the booklet either so I guess the older A5 octys don't get it... Bummer.

I wonder if its just a bulb or something more technical, seems daft to have

the symbol with the c/c and no light.

P.S. Same with fog lights, you could forget you have them switched on. And

I suspect it depends where you live with regards to heavy fog.

Any tech person know if its just a bilb or not.!!!!!

How would you forget you where using c/c, your foot isn't on the pedal yet your speed is constant:doh:

Well personally I could do with a light to stop my brain going into cruise control too.

There are times when the C/C system is still active despite manual input ie when you accelerate a little and then take your foot off the pedal, the car slows down to the preset speed and carries on.

Here Here, Post that one postman....:P

So you need the light on to tell you can take your foot back off the pedal you have just pressed

anyway all that extra electricity needed will ruin fuel consumption

Yes I do as it goes, the same way I need a light to tell me the handbrake is on. There are times when it isn't blatantly obvious that the cruise control is on or off especially when approaching junctions and the like.

Anyway, I just want another "bilb" on my dashboard.

Ov korse it is a bilb ...u phool ...Kato
