If you can't feel the hard stop at the end of the racks travel, I'd say it's not a software issue but something physically affecting the movement.

Stupid? question. Are the outer rod ends installed upside down? Look at the compression of the rubbers.

Or, are some of the parts not correct equivalent parts to the VW Group factory originals, I was going to check the length of thread showing above the TRE ball pin on my wife's 2015 Polo as I thought that in that picture it was a bit excessive, which made me wonder if the taper was different to the original TRE.  Really same thoughts about track rod lengths.

Edit:- questions like this is probably why proper mechanics will only ever fit parts they have supplied.

when i first picked the car up the toe was out and the steering wheel wasn’t central

After getting the Alignment done as per above picture , I believe the mechanic then could re calibrated the steering using the battery off, only took him a few minutes to sort, however I wasn’t in the car maybe a loose sensor was the culprit idk lol not 100% sure what he did

However now it drives alot better, still feel maybe the end stop require coding and definitely the steering assist requires changing to lighter

its on YouTube the process looks simple enough just need to figure out the correct security access code

If i knew changing the Inner ties would create such problems I wouldn’t have bothered there was nothing wrong with them apart from surface rust

Thanks everyone I believe this case can be w””rapid’t up

Nearly solved this

On this occasion the steering required VCDS resetting unsure if moving the rack & wheels while stationary for the replacement inner tie rods or a mischievous mechanic has done something to clear the codes

When i looked at VCDS the steering assist was set to Unknown instead of auto comfort or dynamic

Possibly the other values where stored in-correct while setting the SA manually

Is it solved you ask…….

Nearly

Steering rack flashed

Dataset flashed with relevant file

ODIS-S offline can do a partial Calibration that switches both Dash lights off and fixes all relevant Fault Codes

IMG_6351.jpeg

But still this issue

Status of Basic setting - not active ???

No Straight Line Running

No absorption of road & wheel vibration Feel at 70mph like the rack needs more power

Only thing i can think is this CAYB car has a none original ECU i think from a CAYC with a different VIN number

And ODIS uses this VIN to Identify the car

The rest of the car modules are Original car Vin

Also this ESP rack requires specific engine Torque to tell it when to give more assist while parking and firmer at high speed

Ive just had an injector fitted from a Solenoid Ground Fault now the car is faster & steering feels lighter WTF , have the electrical gremlins had a hand in this all this time lol idk

At the beginning of this ordeal i had a Vag garage use Odis online to calibrate it better than my effort however they also corrupted the Dataset to adaptations thus pulled to left severely on acceleration

Anyone know how they could have achieved this calibration using Odis Online

They stated “i set it up as a new column”

But ive tried that also and it doesn’t do the same calibration as they achieved

Just too add if you identify the car as a higher BHP aka CAYC in ODIS-S it gives a totally different Steering characteristics better & performs like a spaceship like a rough as F**k re-map lol

Gotta ask yourself is it worth it over leasing a brand new car with maintenance and no worries
