Brake noise Skoda superb sportline 150bhp 2017

Featured Replies

My superb under heavy breaking is making a lot of noise I would say brake disc noise. The discs ain’t that old and the previous set did exactly the same. My question is does anybody else have this happen. Thanks

It’s a little bit subjective as to what contributes a lot of noise - best way to have it definitively checked would be to have someone sit in and agree/disagree if you haven’t already.

If you have - did you have the pads changed with the last set to this set of discs? Do you think it’s coming from the front or the back or both?

Mine weren’t noticeable (2021 280 with different size discs) although I thought they were starting to be a bit noisy at the rear with 4mm on the pads.

Thanks for the feed back it only does under heavy load and it’s a heavy car so it could just be that but it seems a bit excessive like a loud brake drowning noise.

Got to the bottom of this problem in the end turns out it was the rear discs replaced them is now smooth and quiet.

What kind of noise it ? Whistling, rumbling, something else?

Could it be simply the ABS? Actually, when ABS triggers (mainly on heavy braking) it makes a kind of rumbling...

Thanks for the reply.

I have had the car since about 10000 miles and it always has made a noise like warped discs from the front like a grinding noise I have changed the discs and pads up the front twice trying to fix it with no luck until the rear discs and pads needed replacing and to my amazement after replacement the noise is gone. The only two possibilities are when I got the car it had been parked up making the discs corroded and the dealer said they put new ones on so it either was cheap discs or maybe they didn’t just cleaned them making them warp. I am just pleased to get to the bottom of the problem.

Welcome. It was just a bit of thinking. Mine were starting to get low at the rear before the front and seemed like a rumbling under braking.

Glad it’s sorted though 👍
