Hi all, new here and have been reading a lot recently as looking for a new car. I am after more room than my 2015 golf and have been swayed to an octy or superb.

One nice example of the Octavia near me is a 2018 Octavia, with 193k km. I have seen about the 'kangarooing' issue on this forum. What should I look for in the drive and in the service history to see if this has been sorted or not?

Also, would a slightly older and higher milage 1.6 diesel superb be a better option?

All depends on what you are trying to achieve and what your driving style and journeys are like. Different engine / equipment options dependant on all those factors.

Most of the 'kangarooing' is mainly down to software needing to be patched and the vehicles that aren't serviced or maintained properly (probably through low oil etc).

Make sure that your vehicle you select has a good service history from Skoda or VAG specialist.
