Central Locking for Doors

Featured Replies

Hi Folks.

I've got a MK1, Skoda Fabia ,07 reg, a 1.2 petrol, manual, htp, classic.

I was investigating an intermittent fault with the nearside front door speaker. I disconnected the 3 separate multi plug connectors in the A frame that continue into the door panel to inspect the wires individually for damage. I had to answer a phone call in the house and closed the door so it wouldn't get caught by the wind and the door seems to have locked itself, even though the multi pin connectors are disconnected. I've tried disconnecting the battery and also tried pulling the inside handle and the pin up, but it has not worked. It seems like some sort of deadlock has engaged.

What is the easiest way to rectify this to get the door open again?

Many thanks, Johnny G.

Try unlocking it with the key whilst simultaneously giving the area a good thump with the side of your fist.

Other than that, @Breezy_Pete might know more.

It's not possible for the door to deadlock if there's no power going to it.

Hi folks.

I have tried using the key several times and thumping the door, but no luck.

Can anyone explain why the front passenger door of the Fabia has locked when there's no electrical connection to the door when the electrical connectors are disconnected.

Possible that the paddle has snapped and it's just spinning?
