Darker privacy glass?

Featured Replies

I have Karoq SE L with the tinted glass in the back. However, compared to my Nissan's the tint is not very dark. I noticed this when comparing to a friends Qashqai yesterday. It is easy to see inside the Karoq compared to the Qashqai.

On my Nissan's with the back seats folded and gear in there all I had to do was put a black boot liner over the gear, and it was virtually invisible. Not so with the Karoq.

Does anyone have any suggestions for darkening the glass on the rear windows (doors, quater-lights and back window)

There are companies that apply extra tinting film to car windows, just make sure that you don't break the limits on tint for rear side windows which I believe is 35% (front windows are 70% and windscreens 75%).

So you can have a 65% tint on rear-side?
Only 30% tint on front windows and 25% tint on windscreen.

I am not trying to look like a drug dealer or pimp, so only interested in the rear ones. :-)

The problem now is to find a decent place that does it.

That's what a quick Google said...

You can have any tint you like on the back windows. Think of vans etc, the only rules are around the front side windows and windscreen.

Another option are car shades. They clip in and offer a great alternative to applying extra tint film etc.
