Another Android Auto question (sorry!)

Featured Replies

Hi,

Apologies for starting another thread about this, but I couldn't find a definitive answer in the other posts on the forum.

I would like to upgrade my system to one which has android auto. I have a 2015 mk3 (Vin: TMBFT6NJ 1 FZ031400) with Bolero 5Q0035820, which I understand from other threads cannot be 'activated' with android auto. The only other feature I require is DAB radio.

Which parts specifically would I need to upgrade (also the glovebox unit?) and to which model (I understand maybe the 5Q0035840A and 5Q0035842A?).

Would I then require any coding etc to be done by a Skoda dealer in order for the new system to work?

Thanks, Simon.

Only infotainment reader (glove box unit), no need to replace display unit. You can use Bolero 5Q0035842x / 565035842 or Amundsen 5Q0035874x / 565035874. New unit must be patched - none SKoda dealer will be able to officially activate new features that are not supported by your original 5Q0035820 unit (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Voice Command, Sport Menu). Each of replacement units I mentioned also supports Rear View Camera.

I can deliver replacement unit in Plug&Play version, if you are interested pls contact me on PM.

That is really helpful, thank you so much.

I would be interested in getting the plug&play option from you. I do not have access to send pm unfortunately so if there is another way to contact you, please let me know via pm.

Thanks again

Thank you for the instructions. The issue is that I need to have posted 20 times before I can send a message, which is fair enough.
