I'm running into an issue with a 2017 Skoda Fabia with an Amundsen head unit. Bluetooth suddenly stopped working last week, in the bluetooth settings, the checkbox for 'bluetooth' just wouldn't switch on. With the help of pab567 in https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/531411-amundsen-firmware-update-bluetooth-fix/ I succesfully updated the unit to firmware MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T. It didn't fix the bluetooth issue, it even made the entire bluetooth settings inaccessible, now showing a message 'Telephone is not available' on both the 'phone' screen (pressing the button next to the screen) as well as accessed from the general settings.

I found comparable topics where other people wrote that the FEC codes might have been disabled for whatever reason. I checked, and the first one in the FEC list from the car was already a hit: https://mib-helper.com/fec-decoder/?fec=00050000

However, instead of an expected 'disabled', it's actually showing as enabled.

I was unable to find other info or suggestions, so I hope anyone here can shed some light on it!

Does it react on ignition switching on/off? If yes then probably the BT module itself, which is built into the glove box unit, is faulty.

Unfortunately nothing helped. Powering on/off with the ignition, restarting the main unit (by holding the power button) nor resetting to factory defaults - all with the same results.

Would you have any tips for me on how to approach/identify the bluetooth module, and if it's user replaceable?

Although I was unable to locate the unit in the car (looking under the glovebox, I don’t see any point to start dismounting panels), I was able to identify the bluetooth module as Skoda 13353284. I found it online as well.

Has anyone something like a workshop manual or suggestions how to dismount the unit?

Update: I have called the dealership to get a quote. I asked them for a replacement of the Bluetooth module. They told me that probably the only option is to get the entire infotainment replaced (with a horribly high quote for that). I'm not very confident that they are offering the best solution.

In the meantime, I'm still looking for ways to get to the Bluetooth unit as described by @pab567 because if that's it, I'd be ready for just a couple of euros (getting a secondhand replacement unit). I just need a dismount/mount instruction for the plastic panels around it, probably something like a workshop manual. Does such a thing exist?

As I mentioned previously: BT module is located inside the infotainment reader. What is your location?
