Karoq 2025 Dashcams

Featured Replies

Good evening!

We’ve just picked up our 2025 Karoq and looking to get at least a front dashcam wired in and hopefully a rear too.

I’ve seen the guides on these forums but they seem to be the previous model or prefacelift, and I’m not sure if there are any differences.

Is the airbag in the A pillar still an issue and cannot use the red path in the attached photo?

Is the green path the recommend path for the cable? If so, how do you hide the cable between the trim and windscreen? Seems like no movement at all with the cable I currently have temporarily dangling until I get it sorted.

I’ve read the rear camera is a bugger. Is there anything I need to bear in mind or any tips to wire one in?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I fitted a Nextbase Dashcam with the Nextbase OBD socket hardwire kit, I put fitted the wire along the green route. Advantages with the Nextbase OBD kit, it just plugs in, no need for an earth wire, its a permanent live -for incidents when parked, no need to remove glove box to access fuses. Some might say it will drain the battery but I've not had any issues. My Karoq is a 73 plate.

Do you not have a USB port at the mirror trim?

The trim between the red and green wires pops out. You can insert a plastic(!!) pry tool at the line on the top of the red line not too deep (1-2 cm) and pop it out. Then you'll be able to see which way you can route the cable exactly to not obstruct the airbag at all. The side of the dashboard which is between the door and the dash on the picture also pops out with the same tool. You can also slide it between the top and the headliner in the car to create enough opening to tuck the wires away, you can hide it all the way to the fusebox without any wires visible.

Fitted a nextbase with rearview cam attached to the front view cam.

I used the green route, but I removed the A-pillar trim ( very hard to remove, needs some persuading, not for the faintharted)) feeding of the cable behind the dash was not that easy (LHD). Used piggyback on rearwiper. Functions flawlessly.

How’s your DAB reception since fitting the rear camera?

Should I have DAB? Really dunno, just use the radio as is, and it functions really well. ( mine’s a 2019)

Yeah sucker you do!

Found out today, after a good 7 months, that I do have DAB. Reception is excellent.
