Skoda superb 2014 universal water leaking

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with my 2014 Škoda Superb estate (with panoramic roof) – water is leaking into the interior.

We already disassembled the panoramic roof and removed the headliner. All drainage tubes have been replaced, seals checked, and everything was reassembled carefully. We're confident everything was done properly.

However, the issue still persists. We noticed something strange – one side of the roof (the side where water is pooling) sits approximately 7mm lower than the other side. Our theory is that when there's a certain amount of excess water (e.g., heavy rain or car wash), it collects more on the lower side and eventually overflows past the edge, causing the leak.

Could this 7mm difference really be the root cause? That the slope is sending all water to one side, where it can’t drain fast enough and starts leaking in?

Has anyone dealt with something similar? I'm really stuck at this point and would appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

I've seen many reports of panoramic sunroofs which were internally leaking. A glue connection seems to come loose.

The famous Youtube car techs "Die Autodoktoren" have reported about that problem a lot.

This is their channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Autodoktoren/search?query=panoramadach

And I believe it was this episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JkoSx68HWw

Also this episode shows exactly what I mean (at 10:20): https://youtu.be/1zeYVvnoXLc?si=THuWPRAVuaXY55jL&t=620
