Dear All,

Maybe you have already experience with issue i have:

Skoda Superb IV (2024.11).

Last week I had 1st check engine (yellow) light poped up. The official Skoda dealer in Lithuania has found an error that oil level is to high. Coolant level is OK,not lower. They say the error is since 2025 February.

The car since 2024.11 has been driven 5700km, most of then on electric mode. Dealer has reduced the oil level a bit. 2 days later i was driving the highway 100kmh on hybrid mode, the check engine light poped up again.

Will visit the dealer next week.

Does anybody had the same issue? Dealer will contact the Skoda Factory tomorrow for further advice what has to be checked and done. Please share your knowledge.

Regards from Lithuania

Interesting.

With what engine is the car?

The Technician must know exactly what is happening if the engine can produce Engine Oil so that it is too full.

Fuel is diluting the Engine Oil.

Really, asking the Factory. Ask to see in writing what they got as a reply.

Skoda Superb IV Plug in hybrid. It has 1.5L, 110kw and 6dsg gearbox

Did he take out the dipstick, move it away from the car, light a match and hold it near the dipstick to see if the petrol in the oil ignited?

Simplest of checks.

Did he take a couple of oil samples to have tested?

No samples checked yet. But I will try by myself.

Next week I have the appointment at Skoda dealer. Have called them today and they promissed to get in contact with Factory, to get instructions for car check on Thuesday. Will see how it goes.

Faulty oil sensor.

Ask for replacement.

They removed oil. Because oil level too high.

Now they need to do an Oil & Filter replacement and a measured quantity of oil put in.

They can then drain it & weigh it. 857 grams a litre at 15*oC. Then put the oil back in.

When it is checked next time they can drain the oil and weigh it.

That is the check for engines using too much oil, but equally as useful for engines being OVER FUELLED.

Usually diesels but in this case a TSI.

Today I was called by the dealer, the answer from Factory - to change fuel pump.

It will be done next week. Will update on situation next week.

Thank you all for comments

Best ask them to get an Oil & Filter change approved with the Warranty work.

Sounds like the start of Bingo Card Warranty actions. Throw parts at them.

If as simple as that then great.

More likely over fuelling when engine fires up and GPF / Catylitic heating up.

Hopefully now there can be no 'Never heard of that before', & it will not be an opportunity to say 'They all do that'.

You can easily check the oil level at the dealer with the service bayonet.

This issue was reported in different markets and the sensor was faulty.

Pretty much there was no issue regarding oil levels in TSI engines in last year's and they do not leak fuel into oil so it cannot suddenly materialize if the amount was correct from the start or when service was done.

@JackP Is that no reported issues with 1.5 TSI iV / PHEV engines being run mostly on electricity?

No over fuelling?

???

Why are they saying replace the fuel pump?

THEY SURELY KNOW OF AN OIL SENSOR ISSUE.

Are you a VW / Skoda Tech or working in a VW Group Dealership?

AI can turn out any old rubbish obviously. Where it finds the info off the net is anyone's guess.

Dear Gents,

I wanted to check the oil level, but i don't see the dip to pull out. Maybe this model shows the oil level only on the big screen?

Plus, i have opened oil cap, and it has a smell of petrol...

Various dealers in many different countries can act differently regarding the same issue as proven by many cases on various Skoda forums in multiple languages. Some will say the DCC is faulty, some will say they are like this from factory, some will swap shock absorbers without mountings, some with mountings, others deny the claim multiple times and you're out of luck.

The issue with oil sensor is not popular (yet) and not all dealers know about it. It could be only a certain faulty batch of sensor that could pop up in different markets, nobody knows yet.

There is no official statement or service plan for this yet so any dealer can try to work it in his own way.

For the user there is only electronic oil level check.

The bayonet is missing from the factory intentionally and the dealer has it or you can buy one online but not sure which model is for 1.5 TSI particularly to show the correct level.

@JackP Relevant is the 1.5 TSI iV PHEV.

So how many of those are dealerships dealing with and as part of The Warranty Bingo game replacing oil sensors on.

Or removing oil and blaming a sensor.

?

Once the oil is removed if not overfilled from the factory is the engine running the correct quantity of oil?

Official was FIXED OIL & FILTER CHANGES with 1.4 TSI iV PHEV,s.

Some were not doing that as never charging the car and running the engine so doing Long Life / Variable / Flexible oil changes.

?

So what is the Regime now with 1.5 TSI iV PHEV,s. Is it annual / 9,400 mile oil changes or variable / 24 months 18,000-20,000 miles?

Or being VW Group is it at 9,300 miles because metric to imperial is so difficult for them?

Intervals could depend on the region and policy.

For example TSI cars leased from VW Bank with full service plan often has 30k kilometers or 1 year for TSI which we drive in the fleet.

There is also another variable that the car system schedules intervals based on the car usage.

You can always ask your dealer about the service plan for your particular purchase.

In the UK as well.

Vehicles leave the Factory on Variable / Fixed Service Regimes.

At a Dealer / Prep centre they come out of Intransit setting and Demonstrators go Fixed Service and they might without asking the New Keeper if they want Fixed Servicing change it to that, or for Fleet or Service Plans.

The question is the 1.5 TSI iV PHEV. Are they on Flexible / Variable code Q16, or are VW still saying Q2 or Fixed Oil & Filter changes.

Not other TSI,s not 1.0, 1.5 TSI ACT, 1.8 or 20,000 but PHEV,s.

Hi to ALL,

So, today was service day. As i wrote before, factory recomended to change fuel pump, oil + filters. But it wasn't the case today...

Last week they have found an error P034100 in block 001. Some oil was sucked out.

Today the error in block 001 was found - P242200. According the error, "test plan" was done.

The advice from factory today - to change EVAP valve. It will be ordered and replaced next week. They said its safe to drive until then.

Any comments?;)

Story continues:

Evap valve was changed this week. Next day - check engine light pops up again:( next week another visit to dealer service again. 4th time...

Does anybody had case, when the car was changed?;)

Some brilliant designer (or accountant) decided not to fit these new 1.5 TSI evo 2 engines with a dipstick....

There is only the (apparently not so reliable) sensor.

Luckily it seams that the dip stick of the this engine is the same as the one of the previous 1.5 TSI evo, and that the dipstick hole is still there, just covered with a blind plug.

So I would recommend to retrofit a good old dip stick.

Somebody even made a Youtube movie about this.

Dear All,

The story continues. After EVAP sensor was changed. The error came back again. 2 weeks ago, dealer changed again the EVAP sensor + evap tank. For 10days it was all ok. Then the check engine light pops up again. I will have another visit to dealer this week.

Does anybody has the same issue?
