headunit APP button opens NAV

Featured Replies

So recently I changed my head unit by 5E0919605N

But when I press the APP button, it tries to open the satnav. So I have to go to menu and then Android Auto if I want to use it.

I have MIB2 standard toolbox installed and with my previous head unit I remaped TRAFFIC -> APP (not sure if this could have an impact here, but worth mentioning)

My firmware is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0369T

Is there a way to make the APP open Androind Auto?

I could not find any remap option from NAV->APP in MIB2 standard toolbox

I've read somewhere that I'd need to be in the 4XX firmware version, is that so? And if so, does anyone have some instructions on how to do it? I found this but not sure if anyone have tried... https://www.t6forum.com/threads/mib2-pq-discover-media-infotainment-mods-upgrade-fec-swap.15010/post-414968

Side question, any advantage on upgrading to the 4XX compared to 3XX?

Thank you so much

Officially, you cannot migrate between SOP3.x (03xx) and SOP4.x (04xx) versions, but there are people out there who say you can do it. Be very careful as the opportunities for bricking the hardware are high.

It sounds like you have a screen for Bolaro, but a headunit for Amunsden. Unexpected results will occur and there is no mapping or adjustment on the unit per-say to change that.

Yeah, I'm tempted to do it but does it really worth the risk? I'm not convinced.

But would that upgrade actually sort the App button function?

Nope - you need the appropriate screen for the appropriate system.

Managed to fix it!

When I still had the previous headunit, I've used mib2 std toolbox to remap the existing TRAFFIC > APP.

Then I realised that on the new headunit the APP was actually opening TRAFFIC, I thought my previous remap could have had simply swapped them.

So I reverted the remap and now APP is working as expected. And I'm happy.
