Driving assist in rain temperamental

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a Superb Estate late '22 and I've had the orange light come up when it rains at times saying driving assist not available or similar sentence.

I seem to remember hearing that this was an issue with these, but as I still have warranty on this car want to ask the question:

Is there any point in getting the dealership replacing the sensor?

The dealership did a service not long ago and even admitted that they had an issue with these sensors, if I took it in, I could be back to square one with a new one, if even they changed it or didn't and told me that they had.

Can anyone offer info on this? I have a few weeks of warranty left and would like to put this behind me.

TIA

I would book it in to the dealer before the end of the warranty.

Even if they say "no fault found" you have a service record entry which says "owner complained of driver/lane assist warnings in the rain" during the warranty period so can argue that the fault existed during warranty so they should honour any repairs afterwards.

I have driver assist on my car and I've only had the systems disabled when in roadworks with high temporary barriers and when driving in winter and the windscreen was smeared with salt solution I'd failed to clean with the wipers.

Each time it was only for a few second and cleared itself afterwards

Thank you Gabbo, I will book it in and see what they say.

I'll report back here once I know.

I did this with my Octavia because I had a complaint that the MIB1 always restarts playing the music from the first song on the SD card instead of remembering where it was.

I had firmware updates for 5 years instead of only 1 year with my warranty because they were still trying to fix it.

Unfortunately VW never came through with a correction though.

It was a common fault it turned out

Thanks again Gabbo, the music issue was a common fault, or the driving assist?
