Centre dash display

Featured Replies

Just collected a Sportline with virtual cockpit

The centre dash display shows a duplicate of the satnav map. My previous SEL was configured to show the turn directions in that panel. Can anyone help me please? Dealer reckons right hand scroll wheel does it but that only changes the scale of the map.

Do what I do - keep pressing any and all of those buttons until you find the right combination - I appreciate the tech on cars tries to be all things to all men but struth, far too complicated....?

Hi. Quite agree. I've taken it in to the Skoda garage and the guy who should know isn't in until tomorrow so hopefully will get an answer then.

On my 2021 car, if you press the bottom left button on the right of the steering wheel you get a menu in the middle of the panel. Scroll to the item you need, then press the scroll to select. You may then need further scrolling and pressing to get it how you want. I like fuel consumption since start on mine, and it is fine until I enter a destination n either the standard satnav or in Google maps where it puts a map in the centre so it has become second nature to reset the fuel display every time.

@survey sorry that link didnt help. I've got a late 2024 so will check on mine when I get chance.

TBH I don't use the built-in NAV so have never needed to display guidance info, I use Waze via Android auto and on a journey when using navigation, tend to switch the VC to the sport (single dial) display.

@survey yes , you're right that option isn't there on mine either.

What you can do though is to configure the Virtual cockpit displays from the Vehicle settings->Instrument cluster menu. You can (apparently) select Route guidance (default is fuel cons) for the LH centre of the two dial display. What exactly that does I'm not sure yet but we'll see...

Hi,

Yes you are quite correct. Annoying that this may be the only way around the problem. It was perfectly positioned on my late 2022 SEL. If it ain't broke don't try to mend it! I'm still awaiting s response from Skoda UK via my garage. Don't hold out much hope and I'll bet they don't even mention the work around we have found! I'll post the response I get.

Ok. Dealer staff have all looked at this. Conclusion is that on latest cars the green directions cannot be displayed in the centre panel between the virtual cockpit Speedo and rev counter. Absolutely crazy that we have to put up with the satnav map on the dash and also on the satnav screen. The only thing one can do is to configure the screen within the rev counter dial to show direction arrows instead of one of the alternative options (I have the mpg from start showing). I fear a lot of change on models is change for change sake rather than usefulness. I'm praying for an update to improve matters!

Push the lower right button on the right side steering wheel cluster, this will bring up a menu, use the right scroll wheel up or down for what you want than push the right scroll wheel into the wheel to confirm the selection.

No that doesn't work on the latest software. It did work on my 2023MY Karoq. Latest software pressing that button gives no sub menu other than the scaling of the map on the navigation (map) at centre panel on dash between rev counter and Speedo.

I have a 2025 car and that's how I get the sub menu? Do find Skoda software not very user friendly though

Well that's quite bizarre. My car is newly delivered. Dealer has tried other cars of same age and found there is no sub menu when pressing on navigation. The only result of pressing is to change scale of map displayed in that central location. I wonder how old your car is or when it was built. Is it Sportline? Mine is a Sportline with ACC and other features and of the most recent age similar to the build date of the latest SEL'Edition' models. Maybe a late software update. I'm glad you have the feature that I sorely miss that I had on my 2023MY SEL!

GillyGilbert - as a matter of interest what do you have on the dash centre panel screen between the dials before you press on the lower right button on the right of the steering wheel? Would it be the map?

Mines a Sportline as well, it has all the new stupid EU regulations with the speed warning stuff you have to turn off every time, Will get some the rest of info this afternoon as can't remember.

And it appears we don't get the ACT symbol at the top of the dash when 2 cylinders cut out! Had that on the SEL

Extra info

So, had a play with the dash, only time I can get the navy arrow in the center is when I select the dash with not a lot on it, not sure what you call it,

But this is the menu thing, might be talking about different things,

Finally worked out how to assign second key fob to another driver, that's a pain lol

GillyGilbert. I can get an arrow showing on the left hand panel oh the digital display options not ideal. I note you can get it in the centre of one digital display. I've tried everything but cannot get it in the centre panel of the two dial display as the photo.

Driven from Calais south today, over 300 miles. Mpg 50.1 so about 48mpg allowing for the Skoda error which is always optimistic! Mostly speed was 65-75. Do miss seeing the ACT symbol at top of dash whenever the car is not using s couple of cylinders.20250501_155701.jpg

GillyGilbert. Sorry, the photo is not of the Sportline but of my previous SEL. However the effect I want is the satnav directions between the 2 dials - exactly what I had on the SEL. When a route was input on the satnav, the car disappeared and was replaced with the datnav directions. I fear it's just not possible. Retrograde step Skoda!

Yea, see what you mean the only location I can get it is either the left or right but not in the middle, like you said seems a bit of a backwards step, never had a Skoda before so it's all new to me.

Similar here on our 2024 SEL.........only way the arrows can be displayed in the middle is if I cancel the dials......

I have had a Skoda before, it was even a Karoq, and its still new to me!

I've also spent my life working in IT and still find it difficult to find my way round this system!

My main gripe from the previous 2021 Karoq to this 2024 model is that the 'nudge' on the steering no longer restarts the engine when the 'start/stop' has engaged. Previously you could nudge the steering when traffic lights start to change and then engine was running ready to move when green!. Now you either have to wait for the delay when you press the throttle (its a DSG btw) or use the stop/start button. In effect I now mostly disable start/stop to avoid the situation...
