Virtual Cockpit Route Guidance

Featured Replies

Hi,

Having an issue with my virtual cockpit middle section. My wife was driving and has accidentally hit a button or something and I can’t for the life of me get it back to how I had it before. I use apple carplay and have their big map on the infotainment screen. We then had navigation with the route guidance (i.e the arrows showing your next turning, not the map) on the middle of the virtual cockpit with the standard dials either side rev and gear speedo’s. Now we have the skoda’s own navigation map in the middle which is not needed while we use apple carplay navigation. I am sure there used to be a toggle when you selected navigation for the middle that said show map and you clicked it on and off and if it was off that’s how you just had the route guidance in the middle section rather than the map but that doesn’t seem to be appearing anymore so having the map is the only option. Can anyone help? Ive googled and youtubed for ages and can’t find that toggle to turn map off and just have route guidance in the middle. When I rarely didn’t have a route inputted in the middle displayed a compass if this also helps, thank you

I don’t believe it is possible to do what you want. The central display on mine will only work with the built in maps. If you use a phone map it is only on centre screen, so I always use the built in one even if not as accurate and doesn’t allow for traffic issues.

Hi,

Thanks, maybe I wasn’t clear enough sorry but I know it’s possible as Ive been doing it for months since I configured it just after buying. To be clear I am not aiming for my carplay maps to be in centre position on virtual cockpit, I know that can’t be done. It’s the route guidance while using carplay that has green arrows with your next direction that I want in the centre. When not using carplay satnav the centre is just filled with a car compass. At the moment however I am stuck with the inbuilt map and every other normal centre option like audio, vehicle settings etc etc, thanks

Try pressing the bottom left button on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Using the scroll above the button, rotate to select navigation, then press the scroller. Then scroll again until it shows what you want and press again.

Yes I believe this is what is supposed to work but once navigation is selected on my scroller when you press the scroller again there’s no option. Im sure it used to have a ‘show map’ with a tickbox. If anyone could confirm that’s what you get?

Just been out to my car, try the following...

Start NAV in the infotainment

At the bottom right corner there's an arrow pointing left, press it

On the next screen the bottom right corner has a square with three dots in it, press it

The next screen should show the option SHOW MAP IN CLUSTER with a tick box, untick it

This works on my car with the Amundsen infotainment.

Hi,

Thanks I managed to solve it - I went into Nav like you said then swiped down to see options and pressed route guidance and now its working! Thank you for the suggestion. Seems a bit of a glitch you cant toggle this through Virtual Cockpit as the scroll is utilised for the map zoom
