Skoda Connect Services: Care Connect & Pay to Fuel/Park

Featured Replies

Care Connect - Remote Access

Initial usage of the latest version of MySkoda App and all seems to be functional setting up with my MK4.5 2025. I just have a doubt of the security of the remote access which provides any potential thieves to the car data like the VIN and REG plus localisation of the car and ability to open the doors. If your phone is compromised and the FID is changed they will have instant access. I have the lost phone protection enabled on my IPhone but it’s a nice to have but not really sure if it’s use as you have the key to open and start so not sure the thinking behind the phone access. Just a labo invention vs real marketing user need? What’s your take on it?

Infotainment apps:

Pay to Fuel and Pay to Park. Also enabled these paid zero cost services. Anyone use them and like them? No issues encountered? How do they both work in a nutshell.

Cheers, Steve

I have the Infotainement online service too so use it to send destinations to the car before getting in which is quite useful. Adding the price per litre of fuel when i fill it up means you also get costs for journeys etc.... And you get freebies by saving up your points by going in to the app each day. (I just got the shopping bag to keep in the boot). On iPhone if you add the widget to the homescreen you can see what range you have left and if the car is locked etc.... without having to open the app.

Pay to Park and Pay to Fuel aren't available in the UK so unless you're travelling to mainland Europe you might as well remove them again.

Wow, that shopping bag is a lot points @WaveyDavey! I think I only have 70 something. Handy tip too regarding the widget view (I wander if it works on Android)

Thanks for the widget tip. Didn’t think about that 👍🏻 I’m based in France so can use Pay to Park and Fuel but not sure if it’s really of any use.

If you collect your points every day you get an extra 10 points once a week so they build up quite fast.

I thought the Pay to Park/Fuel was a a bit risky having to enter my credit card details so have deactivated both. It’s very easy in the infortainment shop to remove any of the installed apps. I have kept the care connect but turned off the lock/unlock, honk/flash and parked location. All other MySkoda app functions seem to work ok. I will see if it’s any use or if I also don’t like the tracking of the driver data. I also set the privacy settings to the “shared” mode which is hopefully not tracked but only shared in case of an 🆘 The only things auto disabled with that privacy mode is the Internet radio and Laura voice control but not entirely. I really don’t like the way that it’s so easy to open the car with a phone 📱 that’s so scary 😦

Discussing with my PM I decided (well she did) that it’s better to enable the localisation. So I did including honk/flash. So the only functions disabled is the lock/unlock plus the pay to park/fuel. Can’t see the use of those.

Also in the App disabled to wake-up the car on opening the App. Not sure if it will drain the battery 🪫 as currently opening the app more than driving the car.

Lock/Unlock purpose is if you lock the fob in the boot. (It won't let you lock it in the car if it's in the storage area between the front seats).

I'm sure it limits doing it to 3 times a day unless you manually refresh/connect after that amount.

If you have the keyless entry active I find the lock and unlock feature useful. I have walked away from the car several times locking my passenger in the vehicle and returning to find the alarm going off!

Now I walk away and can unlock the car without this issue. I am sure there is a setting to leave an animal in the car to get around this problem but I haven't found it yet.
