Skoda superb mk2 car battery bem coding

hi can anyone help me on this please, ive a skoda superb mk2 ive bought a battery that didnt come with the BEM CODE sticker on it, its a Bosch battery, ive contacted them who tbh waste of time, ive found a review pic of the same spec battery showing there bem code, can i use that code? i also have the vcds cable, so is there a way to code without the sticker if the one i mentioned is no good? any help would be great, the pic ive attached is not my battery but its the same make a spec just mine didnt come with the bem sticker

Hello, the BEM code is not critical - just use any code available, or leave original as is.

The only critical data to update the BCM is -

  • Battery chemistry (AGM/EFB)

  • Battery capacity (A/hrs)

  • Alteration to last digit of existing battery serial number to flag that the battery has been replaced.

I should have mentioned in my post above - AGM should be entered as 'Fleece' in VAG parlance.

this is the battery on the car atm so as long as the ah number and the 680 number goes to 760 then im ok? sorry for the questions but never done this stuff before so dont wanna mess it up

i meant 68 ah needs to go to 70ah

Yes - assuming your new battery is also AGM (Fleece) just change the A/hr setting to the new battery capacity and change the last digit of the existing, recorded battery serial number.
