Guys - I should know the answer to this.
I've been a Skoda owner for a long time now, so should fully understand how the "Model Year" works.

A Kamiq Registered in January 2021, does that come under a MY20 or MY21?

Reason I'm asking is that we are looking to make some adaptations to the car and it would appear there is different coding between MY20 and MY21 vehicles - just want to make sure we use the right ones.

I know around this time is difficult as we're in the "just past covid" world and there were component shortages and there is no guarantee you've got the right components (this is an SEL so should have dynamic indicators all around, however only has them at the back - I understand this wasn't uncommon due to component shortages, etc - for example) - so you may have old controllers, etc.

The 10th letter of the VIN gives the Model Year - L for 2020, M for 2021.

Just to point out that as far as I know, SE L has always needed the cost upgrade for dynamic front indicators. It has been the Monte Carlo trim that got them as standard.

If you have the original documentation than you may find you have the Certificate of Conformity. (CE Mark cert).

The year and month of manufacture are also stated on this.

Year models are from Late August through to July of next year with an update in the middle somewhere Eg my 2019 Tiguan was built Nov 22 2019 and was last week of the old Cockpit Aid Next was was designated 19.5

You need the VIN to confirm. While unlikely during COVID, date of registration can be quite different to date of manufacture - and you can find cars that sat around a while before being registered for the first time...

Would be a 21 as mine was built in May 21 and registers as a 21 Changed in August to MY22 Factory shuts late July and retools for new model which starts from late Aug/Sept. Most makes are the same

ERROR HERE Tiguan was built Nov 22 2018 and is a MY19 delivered in March 2019. all parts come up as for a 19
