Jerking when shifting gears

Featured Replies

Problem: The transmission jerks when shifting gears. I have an Octavia (2017.02) 2.0D with a 6-speed DSG transmission, 110k. After driving approximately 10 km (when the car has warmed up), the transmission experiences jerks when shifting gears. Please help, as the authorized Skoda service center cannot identify the problem.

Is that 110,000 km?

Was the DQ250 DSG given an oil & filter change at 65,000 km or so?

If they can not identify the issue with all the gear and more than ideas and a test drive then that is a problem.

Best go to an Automatic Gearbox specialist where they might know their arse from their elbow and give a damn,

Might be worth an oil and filter change. It could be that the oil is past it/low or filter is clogged.

Oil & filter changed at 55k.

Time to have it done again then and a reset of the clutches. Software reset.

Might well be failing mechatronic unit but as that is a pricy part to replace it's worth starting with a full service and a reset of the adaptations.

Is it all gears or just pull away 1st/2nd?

It is jerking through all the gears when shifting.

It started to jerk even not only at the moment of shifting. For expl. you are going on gear "6" and it starts jerking :(

It is my third time leaving my Octavia in an authorized Skoda service today. We will see...

Nope - none of the above. DQ250 boxes require a oil and filter change every 40,000 miles or 64,000 kms.

They are very sensitive to dirty oil and a oil/filter change might help. Would also get a scan to make sure that the clutch bite is not out of alignment - the gearbox will throw an error if that is an issue (i.e. the clutch pack is worn and needs new clutches)

I got my Octavia back from the service. The Crankshaft sensor was changed.
