Are any MK3 Superbs 0 rated for towing as some Octavias are

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there are MK3 Superbs out there that are 0 rated for towing on the VIN plate in the same way that some Octavias and possibly Kodiaq's seem to be.

I'm hoping to get a used MK3 Superb (probably 2020 or 2021 1.4 TSI iV) and get a tow bar fitted, assuming one is not fitted already. I'm just a bit concerned as I've read on other threads and also here that some Skodas (the examples are all Octavias) can never have a tow bar fitted due to the VIN plate issue. I know that the Superb catalogue had a footnote similar to the Octavia stating that, without factory towbar prep, some cars would never be able to tow.

What I haven't been able to find online is anyone saying that they owned or had seen a Superb that was 0 rated for towing. I'm wondering if this is just an issue for Octavias and possibly Kodiaqs.

Many thanks in advance for any feedback. In case it is of interest, it will be a boat with gross weight of just under 1000 Kg that I will be towing.

I've never come across a Superb without a proper GTW figure but I've always looked at 2.0 petrols or diesel.

Why are you looking at PHEV for a towcar?
