Hi and thanks,

Which one of those three (Conti, Goodyear,Michelin) you vere most satisfied with in all conditions, from cold winter to hot summer.

Incidentaly, those three are the only premium brands that have exact size and load/speed rating for Skoda Superb.

Hi,

You’re welcome.

I can’t compare the Contis to the other two as they were on a very different car, however I was very pleased with the Contis on the Cupra once I adjusted to them being an all season tyre, rather than a high performance summer tyre.

On the Arteon, the Goodyears were, in my opinion, better than the CC2, most noticeably in the dry with regards to grip, braking and they were also quieter.

Not saying the CC2 were at all bad, they outperformed the Pirelli summer tyres in every aspect, especially on such an overweight, under-powered, under-braked, unbalanced car!

Only done a small, dry mileage with the Contis but initial impression (against half worn summer Churchills)

  • Quieter, despite the more agressive tread.

  • More feedback on turn in.

i.e. quality all season better than cheap summer which is perhaps no great surprise. Looking forward to trying them in some rain!

I was fully expecting KF to find something to charge me for with their free alignment check but to my surprise it was "all fine, no charge!".

Good, you got a nice deal.

Report if there are some "rain" or other issues.

Nice, good to hear the quality all-seasons are better than the cheap summers…I think, like you, I’ll just take whichever offer Conti/Pirelli/Michelin are offering when I’m ready to bin the Lego tyres, as any of them will be a great choice.

From my experience last winter, the Contis come to life in the colder, wetter weather so you won’t be disappointed.

Just one question, and apologies if I missed it, what size are yours? I’m on 235/45/18 and hoping they have a decent rim protector.

Thanks for your feedback!

215/55/17 thank goodness. I'd have been happy if the car had come on 16" rims, sidewall is a good thing, especially on UK roads at the moment.

According to my homologation 16"-19" rims can be used. Here they come with 17" as standard.

They are not too soft as 17" ?

Our old Saab 9-5 Estate (The Superb is it's spiritual successor) could run on 17 to 15 and I dropped it from 16 to 15 and never had any cornering problems. As Colin Chapman advocated, you need the tyres in contact with the road, for this you need compliance. Plus, despite containing more rubber, higher section tyres tend to be cheaper.

That said, I have no complaints about the Superb's ride on 17s.
