I have seen a Skoda Superb I'd like to buy but the car was not bought with Sat Nav. The car does have the Nav button on the control panel and when this is pressed it displays Function Not Available. Is this something that can be easily enabled/ installed?

Details - Skoda Superb Estate, SE TSI 1.5 Petrol.

The easiest way to add Prat Nav to a vehicle not fitted with it ex-works is called a TomTom.

I was hoping to be enable the Sat Nav that appears to be on the car anyway.

Odd that it’s got the button if it didn’t come with it. Could it be as simple as the satnav card being missing from its slot?

With the button being present, I’d think it a racing certainty it’s there, but might need unlocking by the dealer.

My Wife’s car has Android Auto/Car Play installed, but she won’t pay the cost to have it enabled 🙄

That's what I thought - I had a car about 10 years ago that would give a similar error if the SD card was removed. I have checked and there's no SD card slot - and in my current car there is no SD card either and the sat nav works fine. You would have thought that in a 3 year old car if it has a Sat Nav button then there must be Sat Nav.

Post a pic of the unit Some are MIB2.5 which have a Sd slot in the glovebox and later ones are MIB3 which are either updated over the air in Europe or Offline updates in Australia

I believe it's an MIB3. When checking for updates non are available.

Our Amunsden MIB3 doesnt have any knobs But try this It seems to be current map for Europe Cant remember where I got the VIN from

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING WHAT YEAR IS THE CAR and did you look in the glovebox to see if a box with 2 SD slots in the front of it That looks like a Discover Media unit not and Amundsen as in 2021 onwards

Thats a Discover Media MIB 2 and isnt relevant to this

So I was pointing out that it doesn't look like my Discover unit.

It takes very little to confirm 3V0035820H is an MIB3 unit:

And that the unit in the glovebox doesn't come with two SD card slots. Interestingly it appears this unit can come both with, and without Satnav.

Thanks. I've checked the glove box and there aren't any SD Card slots. Someone I spoke to at a garage says that this model doesn't come with Sat Nav apparently.

The fact that it has navigation database 21.2 and the nav button surely must mean it has nav, and it just needs enabling?
