The Festival of the Unexceptional - take your Yeti in a few years !

Featured Replies

For those that don't know, it's the classic car show dedicated to the 80s and 90s, and now up to and including to the year 2000. The Yeti is 9 years off, but I'm sure it will be represented by some immaculate pre facelift ones in years to come. It will deserve to be.

I took my original Impreza Turbo , and my favourite cars were an Alfetta GTV6, a Citroen CX GTI Turbo, a Toyota Tercel 4WD Estate and a mk1 Honda Accord Aerodeck with the 4WALB badge.

Plenty of reminiscing and everyone in good spirits, without the clickiness you get at some car club shows.

I've got a you tube vid from Steff I drive a classic to watch some time on that car show

It used to have earlier cars than 80s and 90s and not so many flash cars. Sounds like it might be turning into a bit of a highly polished cars that aren't actually used which would be a shame as youngster were showing their everyday use car which certainly might not be "show" condition. It'll be a pity if it's turning into yet another old-farts' highly polished unused car show like the one I got fed up with many decades back.

No. It's a good mixture of cars you don't see very often. Even my tidy but hardly a show car year 2000 UK Impreza wagon was the only one there, and it's ages since I last saw another one.

There were more Sinclair C5s than any other model. I liked a very tatty Austin Ambassador for its braveness.

You might be surprised.

If that was also at the only show I went to at Stowe School then I might have (ETA: seen your car), I can't remember what year and whether it was pre or post Covid, I don't think the show was quite as big as it may be now. I enjoyed it and would go back again but any shiny cars would also need to be rare for me, cars that you used to see all the time before they are rusted away and not fashionable enough to be considered an over-valued, over-priced "classic old car but just an old car or old banger.

ETA an important bit that was missed

There was an early Skoda Favorit there this time and plenty of rare / interesting stuff that was great to spot. I like the randomness of it all.
