I only ever use Google Maps for the Navigation in my car (UK 73 plate Superb SE Technology) Last week or so, when driving, on the dashboard I could see the approximate ETA and the distance remaining. It appeared in the circled area, just above the trip.

As far as I am aware I made no changes to make it appear.

Today, it is gone. Again I don't recall changing anything as I always have the display looking like this with the dial each side and the map in the middle.

Any ideas?

Were you navigating using Google Maps at the time? When you do it overlays the navigation data, like direction wording (and possibly distance), over the top of the Skoda map on the virtual cockpit.

As far as I am aware, ever since I have had the car(about 1 year) I have always done the same. Set navigation in Google maps. Sometimes connected by cable and sometimes bluetooth. I had never noticed it in the small map until last week, but now it has gone again. I don't believe I have changed any settings to make it appear or disappear. Whilst it was working it was doing as you describe and had the next direction at the top of the map and the ETA and distance remaining at the bottom.
It isn't a big issue. I've managed without for 11 months but that little taste during this month has made me wonder.

It should always do it on the virtual cockpit map as long as you are navigating somewhere using google maps. You can also change what is in the centre of your dials to show what your next turn should be including distance, eg mine below with the forward arrow. I have 3 presets set up so I can easily toggle what shows on the right, eg Preset 1 = Nav, Preset 2 = MPG, Preset 3 = Fuel range

What version of Android Auto are you using?

For clarity when using Google Maps via Android Auto, is that appearing on the dashboard? on my car (admittedly and older model, 2020 with a MIB2 high) if I use Google Maps it won't show on the virtual dashboard, only the built-in navigation will show up there.

@acjy1985 are you sure you didn't have Skoda navigation running too? Skoda nav does show ETA and distance at the bottom.

Tried this yesterday with CarPlay out of curiosity - nothing displayed on digital dash.

I’ve never used the ŠKODA Nav other than an attempt when I first got the car. Struggled to find the destination and then gave up and used the phone ever since.

That is exactly how it looks though.

I've seen it but have to have route guidance selected in the left or right display.

Here I have google maps on infotainment, maps on centre display and route guidance on left display.

Notice the message saying towards Langford Rd. That's being generated from Google Maps and I'll often see ETA etc flash up.

Are you sure you didn’t use Apple Maps by accident?

Well it hadn’t reappeared since I made the original post. Drove back from

Spain yesterday, this morning hit ‘work’ (sadly) in Google maps and it is back! Got a photo this time.

Very odd, are you on the Android Auto beta programme? Maybe it's worth asking on the Google AA/Maps support pages to see if they can help

No, the map on the dashboard is the Skoda map, it just overlays Google Maps wording, eg what turn to make next

Ah, i though you were getting the complete Google maps on the dash. Now I understand !
