I understand removal of the gearbox is a must however it feels that the 1.0 is quite easy to work with as there is a lot of space as the engine is so small.

Could be numerous things, but I suspect that the clutch pack is probably worn and it needs new clutches-packs if it is slipping. Make sure that the mineral oil and mechatronic oil has also been changed. I think your gearbox is actually a 7 speed DQ200 gearbox.

Im quite certain that this is a manual 6 shift gearbox and I think that the dq200 is only 7gears automatic?

I'd check with seller to make sure this is a M6 gearbox - and not a DSG.
