Starting problem, need wiring diagram.

Featured Replies

Hi all, does anyone have a link to a wiring diagram for the starter motor solenoid on a 2014 Superb 2.0TD with DSG gearbox. Some background below.

Car is intermittently not starting. I've replaced the Battery and the Starter motor. After much troubleshooting I've found that the car will start perfectly and run fine if you jump 12v straight to the solenoid on the starter motor, so the problem is the solenoid is not getting triggered when I turn the key.

I've replaced the relay(after much continuity checking to find which relay it was) and still have the same problem. I suspect that its maybe something to do with the gearbox not seeing it being in "Park", even though it shows as being in P on the dash, but it could be anything really, like a control module or something. So basically i need a wiring diagram to try and troubleshoot further, I've had a look online but can only find paid sites in Russia etc. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Reg or VIN would get me to the best info efficiently.

I'm in Ireland so doubt the Reg would help. Don't know the VIN but ill have a look later.

So did some more troubleshooting. I found that pin 5 of the starter relay below connects directly to the Starter solenoid. Also when I try to start the car the relay is switching. However, there is no 12v on the common of the relay(pin3), so when it switches, there's no voltage to send to the solenoid, hence no start. Need to find out where the 12v to pin 3(that is missing) comes from.
