Octavia scout mk3 2015 screech from engine bay

Featured Replies

High pitch screech at high revs on my Octavia scout 90k miles.

Car has been parked for a couple months with me turning it on here and there and driving around never had this issue. Changed the radiator pack recently and new coolant, sometimes I hear sloshing around when I turn it off. The other day I started it and on driving it a little at high revs it makes a horrible screech sound! Don’t know where it came from but very m random. Haven’t been using much as looking for a bumper for it as it’s damaged

Can't hear anything untoward on that clip but if the car's been standing and the alternator belt is worn / a bit slack, that's where I would look. The load from the alternator charging a low battery is quite hefty.

Canny hear anything untoward on this clip. Check Alternator belts.

If you listen towards the end of the clip as the revs go down there is a horrible screech sorry the video is so bad

I can hear a noise around 0:04, but this sounds like it could be anything from the turbo to the transmission.

Does it do it when stationary?

Are you able to video it from outside the car?
