Front suspension/shocks/ springs

Featured Replies

Hello

I own a skoda Octavia 2021 2.0 ltr diesel.

I have just bought the car two months ago

I find the front suspension very soft. I live in the countryside and on these roads it dose a lot of bouncing, ( front )

A friend drove it today and said beautiful car , but very soft in the front. !

Even on the main road / motorway it still bounces on a dip etc.

has anyone experienced these issues

Is there an upgrade on suspension ? That I can do to stiffen the front.

Thanks.

Without stating the distance the car already has under its belt, it could be possible that it needs new shocks?

Yes forgot to put that. ! 220k km. It’s just past test. So shocks should be ok. ?

I’ve never owned a skoda before, always drove Avensis ,

Thanks.

I'd say you need new shocks. A roadworthiness inspection only gives a cursory look at the point it was carried out.

Thank you.

Appreciated.

The suspension is indeed quite soft from factory, so maybe look at upgrade paths, like Bilstein B6.

I've used KYB gas-filled dampers on a number of cars, they tend to be a little cheaper than Bilsteins. They are listed for the Mk3 Octavia, two alternatives depending on the diameter of the struts.

Thanks , Really do appreciate the feedback

Do you have 18" or 19"? I find the car really soft on 18", but much better on 19"

Mine are. 205/55/17. Tyres.

I have also noticed other Octavia bouncing on the front !!

If you could get your hands on some 19" and try them, I bet the bouncing will be reduced. I feel my car "bounces" on 18", but nothing on 19"

Ummmm. I’ll look into it.

Thank you.
