Fabia Mk4 phone mount - is there such a thing?

Featured Replies

I've been searching, without luck so far, for a phone mount specifically for a Mk4 Fabia, is there such a thing?

I don't want a screen mount or anything that sticks to the dashboard but one that is designed specifically to fit the Mk4. Suggestions welcome.

Assuming that you want the phone visible (and accessible) to you when driving the car, Skoda do not appear to offer a mount specifically for the Fabia Mk4.

The holder in this advert is claimed to be suitable for a Fabia Mk 4, but the instructions indicate that "adhesive tape" is involved in the fitting process.

(I would have thought your requirement is very common and that a Skoda dealership should be able to recommend sone sort of 'clip on' mount that's secure but removable without leaving marks.)

Thanks Derek. I've used Brodit mounts in previous cars and found them very good though rather pricey once the cost of the clip, phone mount and any accessories are totted up.

However, so far that's the only Fabia 4 specific one I've found and it fits the bill perfectly as it's my passenger who will need access to the phone on the move and it places it directly in front of her.

Incidentally, the phone holder I would need is this one and it is screwed in place on the clip:

I use a mount that clips to the dash vent it has been in 3 cars to date.

I've often found the fins in air vent droop due to the weight of the phone but have unearthed an old vent mount from the back of a drawer so will try it, hopefully with a better result.

Don't hold your breath.

A big problem is the texture and heavy slope on the Fabia 4 dash. I found nothing that will stick to it without the probability of spoiling the trim. Mounts just slide off the sloping surface. My Fabia mc has no sat nav so I presently use a Garmin unit and mount it on a Nav-mat weighted pad. A Rhinoro fitting will hold the sat nav to the round vent on the dash but they don't seem to make anything for a smartphone. There is one to fit a phone to the handlebars of your bike though. What worried me most about the vent mounting was that the screen wasn't in what I felt to be a safe viewing position.

In short, I don't think that what you want exists and you will have to make do. An app may enable you to link the phone to the car screen but I found messing with stuff like that too time consuming. I can use the smart phone for phone calls with it resting in the small slot below the dash - no cable needed. An android phone links easily to the Fabia screen. In practice we don't make calls when driving. A vent mount is the best option if you must go this route.

As mentioned previously, Brodit manufacture a phone mount specifically for the Fabia 4 however after I have found, fitted and used a vent mount that works well enough for our purpose i.e. to use a tripmeter app on a phone, not for making or taking calls.

It's by Holdersafe and is currently priced at £13.89 from Amazon.

You say you don't want to attach the phone to the windscreen or dash which is as well because that's difficult unless you have telescopic arms. There's too many distractions with screens and menus when driving. If you are going to pursue this buy on Amazon. If things aren't working for you you can return for a refund. I did that on a number of occasions when trying to find a workable mount for our sat nav and also with steering lock devices. A circular Satmat and holder for the phone with suction cup, paired up, would do the job but it would be expensive. I wouldn't recommend it.

Based on YT541's description, this is likely to be the phone mount that he bought from Amazon.

My 2024 Fabia SE L has 'navigation' but, as I'm addicted to Garmin sat-navs logic and usage, I don't much care for the Skoda's system and, like you, I use a bean-bag mount for my Garmin device.

YT541 wanted a phone-holder for his passenger to use (and not to make phone calls) so a vent-attached mounting on the passenger side would avoid the bulky bean-bag approach and be most convenient.

That's the one.

I missed the bit about it being for use by a passenger. For anybody under the age of 40 and many who are older you would have to prise the phone from their dead fingers. So maybe there isn't really a need to do this? 🙂

This phone-mount is also marketed as the Yesido C242.

A GOOGLE-search on Yesido C242 will identify a number of suppliers.

Cheapest (unsurprisingly) seems to be via AliExpress at £9.19 including VAT and shipping - though delivery should be quicker from a UK-based advertiser.

I eventually bought a Yesido C242 from an online advertiser called SUNSKY for the princely sum of £5.04 (£2.60 + £2.44 postage). Ordered on 03/10/25 and delivered 10 days later.

The C242 is well made, sturdy, and is multi-adjustable. My primary interest was to see if it could carry a quite heavy 6"-screen Garmin sat-nav on my Fabia Mk 4 as an alternative to the car's onboard navigation system (that I'm no fan of) or using a bean-bag mount.

The answer is Yes, but with reservations, as - although the C242 can be attached to my Fabia's shallow-height central air-vents - without some DIY modifications, tightening up the mount would result in depressions in the softish material that surrounds the vents. So, for the Fabia, when I want to use the Garmin, I'll stick with the bean-bag.

Not a waste of a fiver though, as the C242 attaches securely to the larger central air-vents of our Skoda Roomster and will not cause damage to the vents nor to their surround.

do you have android auto? if you are usin it, it does bot matter where phone is, because all you can do with AA.

i bought AA BT adapter, and it works perfectly. my phone is in pocket or anywhere, its little too big for my jeans but all works.

To answer some recent comments: I've just removed the vent mount which has been in place for about 10 days, there are no signs of damage to the vent or its surround.

Also, the app my passenger needs to use isn't Android Auto friendly (or vice versa) but she does need to tap the screen frequently when using it; the vent mount works perfectly.

The mount I have has a rubber protrusion with 4 slots that fit over the vent slats,

located near the top of the vent the adapter prevents droop by touching the vent feed pipe

It might be useful if you can provide details of the mount you have.

As I said above, I bought a Yesido C242 mount as shown in this image:

The problem with this mount (as far as I'm concerned) is that the length of the part (arrowed in red on image) is slightly longer than the depth of my Fabia Mk4's central air-vent unit.

Shortening that part is a possibility, but as the Yesido C242 fits well on my Skoda Roomster's deeper central air-vents and I have a 'bean-bag' mount for my Garmin sat-nav that I can use with the Fabia, I probably won't bother unless the Fabia's inbuilt sat-nav drives me to distraction.
