I am in the process of retrofitting ACC on my 2019 skoda scala. Part of the retrofit is a new steering electronics control unit that connects to canbus. Which Hardware you have installed?

I have changed the steering electronic unit to 5Q0953569B and the stalks to 5Q0953521LA from 6RA959653A and 2Q1953507AE. The wiring loom was remade and the steering electronics united was connected to canbus. Besides ticking the address 16 in the can gateway installation list and playing around with the coding of 16, I haven’t done anything else. My problem now is that the stalks don’t work, the airbag doesn’t work, only the steering wheel buttons work.

Why are you installing something that wasn't previously registered in the CAN gateway? Let me guess, a 5Q1 clock spring was installed before?

I strongly recommend that you do not move the vehicle and dismantle it immediately

Yes and no, I am installing the necessity clockspring for acc, but it is a 5q0 clockspring. You can find all the part numbers before the autoscan

Once again. If there was a 5Q1 clock spring before, dismantle it immediately. A 5Q1 spring is a LIN participant of the BCM!!! Not a participant of the CAN!!!!

Once again the previous clockspring is 6RA959653A. Not 5Q1. The necessity modifications were made to the wiring loom to be up to spec as if my car was fitted with acc from the factory. Since the new clockspring is can based, naturally i connected it to the canbus, my problem is that I can’t code the 09 and 19 correctly to stop looking for signals from the previous wires and look at the can bus

Because your entire system is built on a clock spring in the LIN. Why don't you use the right parts?

I am not sure that I agree with you. On drive2 ru you can find other people with the same setup for the can gateway and bcm, the only difference is that their cars came with can bus already there. But if I am indeed wrong, what would be the correct parts?

If you know better, why doesn't it work? Of course it has a LIN connection to the gateway for the multifunctional steering wheel. The vehicle has more than one LIN connection.

Because i am having trouble with the coding, since i am asking if someone is willing to share theirs autoscan. I am not saying that I know everything, but I know for a fact the car is compatible with 5q0. Does it need other modifications than that? I don’t know

I've spent a lot of time researching how to install ACC on my 2022 Kamiq. The Kamiq and the Scala share the same base. However, even though I retrofitted the ring and the stalks, activating ACC is a swap function and therefore requires a direct connection to the VW server.

There are also many other wiring harness modifications to be made to transmit information between the ECUs (DSG, front camera, etc.). However, you're right, the original stalks are connected to the vehicle via LIN, while the new ones go through the J500, which is the steering ECU you installed. You therefore need to declare somewhere that the information no longer comes from LIN but from CAN. And you also need to declare the new ECU in module 19.

Have you made any progress on your retrofit?

You know that the Scala and Kamiq without ECU 16 also have ACC? However, you have a BCM that has the gateway integrated, probably mid-version.

Thanks for the reply, the swap function can be activated without vw servers with an exploit, I won’t go in details here because it is outside of the scope. I managed to get my hands on an autoscan from a scala fitted with acc. The problem is that the car has a bcm and an external gateway, my car has only the the bcm with integrated gateway. A russian guy claims that it is still possible to use my bcm, i have messaged him and i am waiting for a reply. You highlighted my exact problem, where do i tell the bcm to stop looking for the lin signal and look for can. If you want, you can message me to compare notes, maybe we figure it put :)

How do you know it has acc? That is how my car’s auto scan looks, but I only have front assist?

I haven't retrofited yet this function on my Kamiq, but just searching a lot of information.

For my side, I have a separate gateway module because I have the High BCM
