2021 Octavia 1.4 iV PHEV - DSG Oil Change/service

Featured Replies

Has anyone changed the oil in their PHEV's Octavia DSG gearbox as per the recommended service schedule at 4 years of 40,000 miles? If so, can you advise indicative prices received from the dealers? I have got some quotes from independent garages (£250-£350) and still waiting on the dealer to advise, as I called my local one (Marshall Dartford), but they have not called back yet to let me know how much this will cost...

Also, does it have to be 4 years, or can I wait until 40,000 miles (car is currently 28k miles)

Thanks in advance for your answers

I recently changed mine for the first time. It's generally every 65,000 km. Please keep in mind that the DSG gearboxes are equipped with filtering system as well, that means you will need to change the gearbox oil filter as well.

But here's the argument. In warm climates I've heard that they don't change the gearbox oil until 100,000 km on a DSG. But as the climate gets colder, the wear ratio is higher, so they advised to change the DSG oil around 65 to 70,000 km.

The DQ400-e 6 speed wet clutch DSG with a 1.4 or 1.5 TSI service regime is at 40,000 miles or sooner.

It is not @ 4 years, and no DSG is by weeks/ months / years. Regardless of what a Skoda / VW Service chart shows,

*Engine Oil & Filter services are Fixed Service Regime, 9,400 miles / 372 days.

Because maybe the engine is not run often, long enough, unless you know you run it and want Variable / Flexible oil changes. Not recommended though. *

Thank you so much for the information and great insights. Have also been called by the local dealer (Marshall Dartford) and they confirmed it is not work due on the number of years, but on the number of miles, and they said to give them a call back whenever the car gets to 38-39k miles, as its every 40,000 miles.
