Toyo Proxes T1-S in the wet

Featured Replies

Anyone got any comments on Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s?

Had them on the previous Astra. Not the grippiest tyre in the world but they last forever. 30,000 miles + out of the original Fronts and the original rears were still on the car when i p/x'd it for the Octy at 39,000.

**Edit**

Just remembered, i was running 17's for about the last 6 months of owning the Astra, so knock a few thousand miles off those figures above. Still not bad going for the original tyres thought ;)

the toyos are great when its warm... it the temp not the rain... ran them in very very wet conditions at cadwell and they were fantastic... despite the rears having <3mm.. but with 8mm of tread on the octy and some snow on the ground it ended up with ice racing style drifts into banks/ ditches / all available objects. not good.

having said that i am buying some more this week as the tusc is lethal on contis i dont know what it is but high speed stability is gone... the car is all over the place at 130+.

They last forever!!!!

My dad has them on his Astra SRI 2.2

hes done 85k miles, (in 3 years) and hes had 1 new set of fronts at 35k and 1 new one due to a puncture, but he still has 1 original on after that huge mileage.

What about Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's?

Run these on the MKIV and they are superb wet or dry.

Best tyre I have ever used... and I have 'used' many many tyres..

On track and on road... impressive.

Got some Proxes on the Ibiza... and they're Ok in the dry when 1/2 worn, and avg in the wet. Good value tyres.

I must agree I have the latest Goodyear Eagle F1's on my Legacy Turbo Estate and I think they're are really good...cost around

on the 16" wheel the goodyear f1s scored the best in the autoexpress test. the continental sport was second. the continental sports are a lot cheaper grip well in all weathers and last very well. i found the F1s tend to tramline. + the continentals will take a knock better from the learners. lol.

Evo magazine really rated them...they do a massive test on high performance tyres every year but the ones they test is limited.

Are either of these tests available online guys? Or in the current issue of either magazine?
