Not receiving OTA updates

Featured Replies

I own a 71 plate Karoq STY equipped with the MIB3 infotainment system and I've been subscribed to the infotainment online service for some time now but have come to the realization that I haven't received a single update (software or navigation database) for almost a year now. The folks at the dealership I bought the car at couldn't find a way to address the issue, but recently I found myself in another dealership in a different country and the very kind technician there told me that the updates might not be coming through because the "usage licenses of some components might be invalid." Does anyone here have any idea about what he was referring to and if so, how do I check it out?

That's interesting. I've had continuous subscriptions to both Skoda Connect services since my car was new, but the navigation database hasn't updated itself since August 2024. (Previously it would update in the background every few months.) I've wondered if it was I tried a manual update from the Skoda website, and that file wasn't set up to accept the automatic updates?

I tried to update it manually a few times as well, but with no success, I would even leave a USB-C drive plugged into the socket for a month while using the car daily. Since my Karoq's warranty is out I contacted a guy who meddles with OBDeleven in VAG group vehicles and he told me a similar thing as the technician in the dealership: the car's license for navigation software is expired, whatever that may mean, but he's asking for a ton of money to deal with it and can't even guarantee that he can pull it off completely.

Watching this with interest! We have a Kodiaq and the updates are not coming through. 50mph speed limits in former road work locations. Worse still, 60mph when a 30 mph just introduced. Watch the car go.....

Shouldn't need the car to tell you the speed limit.

Rubbish! If as in my case you are concentrating on potential hazards, cruising at 30mph, the fact that the car ramps up to 60mph is quite disconcerting and you do react but your attention is distracted.

Another issue, on M1 your car is doing 70mph and suddenly brakes. You could well get hit up the chuff box. Car behind sees brake lights come on for no reason, he brakes...

You misunderstood my comment. I'm sure the behaviour you describe is alarming. I was simply saying you shouldn't need the car to tell you the speed limit, can't you turn that part off?
