Skoda Felicia door seal problem?

Featured Replies

Gentlemen, i wonder if that is a door seal problem.

Water from rain is collected inside the seal groove (front part), thankfully does not go inside the floor mat but there is no quarantee that will happen next time in a heavier rain.

No water in the rest of the seal (rear part) ,is this a seal problem or not?

That water comes from the rain-drop holes of the door or comes from the top of the pillar? Here in GR we call them ''sink" (they drive the water from the top of the wind shield down).

I have changed one year ago the plastic cover inside the door panel.

After poking out all the rain-drop holes with a plastic cable-tie to check all are clear at exit point I think you might need to take the door card off to see if the drains are not blocked or partially blocked or channels are going correctly, or any seals breached or broken down with age.

Fabias have internal leaks on the back doors that bring water in to the rear footwell(s), a known issue from Mk1 Fabia to Mk3 at least - German design and build quality.🙄

Ι have seen it in a video, the same can occur in Felicia which has a cheap plastic cover (like a curtain) anf often this leaks and brinkg rain drops inside the floor mats.

The drainage paths are open,i have personally check them and the water runs flawesly but i wander the amount of water in the top of the U seal is from the door holes or not? are slipping from the door panel plastic cover?

I can refurbish your door seal with new rubber on the factory moulding, as long as the rubber can still be sourced. But I will try my best to source it if you so wish

You mean a product that ''will take care'' the rubber?

It's extremely difficult to find new seals.

@Thefeliciahacker First i had to solve this issue and then to find the ''cure'' for the problem.

@Thefeliciahacker did you manage to source rubber for door seals? I would be interested in sending mine to you for repair if possible

I think I can source them again, I don't particularly keep stock

How much does it cost to get them repaired?

Look I will be honest,

For each door, the linear rubber extrusion costs 35-45 euros, depending on availability (i.e. order vs stock)

I need to remove the old seal, clean, align, and bond the new seal with polyurethane adhesive, which amounts to 2 hours of work per door.

So that is why it is 100 euros for one door, or 180 euros for 2 doors, or 320 euros for 4 doors.

So all 4 doors cost around 240-250 (including cleaning supplies, adhesion promoter, adhesive etc) euros and I am only making 70 for 8 hours of expert work. I think it's fair, isn't it?
