rusty suspension parts

Featured Replies

i bought the coil overs from a very nice member a while ago but have been wanting to raise it a little as i have broken the sump once already and catch my bumper frequently :(

the trouble i have is that the damper is stainless steel, the spring seat is aluminium and the retaining grub screw in the spring seat is steel so after many miles use it has all siezed together nicely :(

short of taking the units off and drilling the bolts out trying not to knacker the damper does anyone know of a better solution?

If you'e struggling Ben I've got a lovely set of Snap On Easy Out's here.

no thanks, i want my car to be fully working by the end of the year :)

plenty of duck oil/plus gas/WD40 etc and maybe a gentle warm up with one of those little gas burner thingies the chefs use on tele for toasting the icing obvoisly being careful where you point it , and if you get it free lube the parts with copper slip before refitting
