I am picking up my 2025 RS next week on the standard 19" wheels. I am driving to Austria immediately after and need snow chains.

The manual states that chains are only permitted on 205/55 R17 tires. I am planning to buy 17" rims for this reason. I realize they will look small, but practicality is the priority here.

Has anyone used snow chains on the RS? Any experiences to share?

The biggest front brake discs on the Octavia MK4 are 340x30mm, so 17" rims will clear the front brake calipers.

If 17" rims didn't clear the 340x30mm front brake discs, you wouldn't be able to use snow chains...and it wouldn't make sense for Skoda to sell such a vehicle.

Permitted rim/tyre combinations for mounting of snow chains:

Only fit snow chains with links and locks that are no larger than 9 mm.
