Octy question

Featured Replies

I like my Fabia a lot, but I might at some point in the future need more room.

Octy Estate is what I am thinking. Mk1 or Mk2...

Andy's (the marmite pyromanic) looks great in red.

Is there such a thing as a vRS 4x4? Or, did any of the PD models come with 4x4 as an option?

Also, does anyone know why the Octy vRS estate has 16" wheels as opposed to 17" on the hatchback?

Mk 2 will probably be comming as a 2.0 TDI 4x4, the MK one never came as a 1.9TDI 4x4.

Not in this country anyway ;)

There was a 150bhp 1.8T 4x4 version of the Mk1 , but not a VRS.

It had taller suspension than the standard cars but the engine was essentially the same as the VRS so it could easily be remapped to 2XX bhp.

There was a diesel version sold in mainland europe with the 110bhp non-PD 1.9 engine.

As for the wheels on the Mk1 VRS estate - was the rear suspension slightly different on the estate?

The Mk2 4x4 is at present only available with the 105 bhp 1.9tdi though there are rumours of a 2.0 litre version in the future.

Cheers John - I think

I don't mind having a run over to Preston sometime if you fancy a better look at it.

As for the 16" vs. 17" thing, I'm sure I've read that its also something to do with the cross braces that the hatch has at the back of the boot - but the estate doesn't. Might have imagined that though!

Andy,

Yours is a company car, right? Do you get the chance to buy it 'at a good price' once company decides it is time to replace it? Or will the mileage be really high time you're done with it?

I guess I am asking, given your time with the car and having got to know its good and bad points, would you buy it given the choice?

I am sure I will get chance to see it again at a local meet, no need to make a journey specially for me! Although thanks for the offer, it is quite generous of you ;)
