Retrofit OEM LED Headlights for LHD

Featured Replies

As with the Octavia, the Kodiaq is slated to receive OEM LED headlights as a retrofit project planned for 2026.

Required materials:

LED headlights, part number: 566.941.015.F

LED headlights, part number: 566.941.016.F

LED ballast, part number: 7P5941591AJ

LED ballast, part number: 7P5941591AJ

LCM or multi-function control unit, part number: 3Q0907338C

Rear axle sensor, part number: 5Q0907503

Windscreen washer fluid reservoir & headlight washer system, part number: 5NA955449

This is a very rough estimate, and the front bumper with headlight washer system (part number: not spzecified as it varies considerably) is not included.

Since the Kodiaq already has a 14-pin connector, unlike the Octavia 3, I intend to fabricate the necessary wiring harnesses myself, using OEM wire colors based on the wiring diagrams.

All information and part numbers are orovided without guarantee of accuracy.

I don’t believe you need the headlight washer system and associated parts.

My LED headlight Kodiaq didn’t have washers, but my Yeti with HIDs did.

My Kodiaq 2 has LED headlights and also doesn’t have washers fitted.

So, wiring harness 4B and the wiring harness for the axle sensor are mostly finished.

Today I ordered more colored wires so I can complete the wiring for 4B to the headlights.

Connector 4B still needs to be replaced; it's just my wiring harness test connector.

Then I can finally start the Retrofit

I gathered some important information from the retrofit in the O3 so I don't make the same mistakes again.

Yesterday, work continued at the "table."

The Kodiaq data set was loaded, and the coding was prepared as far as possible from the 4B unit.

So, the project is slowly progressing as the weather gets nicer.

Next order placed:

22 automotive wire spools, each 25m long, in the same color and cross-section as the OEM wiring for the LED headlights.

This will allow us to produce the last two wiring harnesses.

The first LED headlight wiring harness is almost finished; only the 14-pin connector and the small pins are missing.
