In Car Entertainment New Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I want to put dvd/mp3 into the car, in an ideal world it would be nice to just replace head unit but dont think i can.

So if I can just buy something of fleebay and get whatever adapters or wiring diagram maybe this is best route?

Saw a universal dvd/mp3 6changer on ebay this might be an option?

Or if someone has any other suggestions any info would be great.

Cheers

Martin

You can get the adaptors for the fascia to fit a regular headunit, then just get yourself a nice single din DVD/MP3 player.

IIRC an adapter is cheap from a dealer is it not?

I'm not aware of any facias or IIrc adapter?? but sounds excellent if i can buy something and add a facia.

I have the 1.9 elegance dsg, so the head unit is all one with climatic control etc, how would this be affected.

It won't be. The climate control controls are separate from the head unit although you do get feedback of changes to the climate control settings on the radio display but you dont really need that.

bluespot do the adaptors for it

cheers for that bluespot seem reasonable enough in their pricing, excuse my ignorance but is it a double or single space din in the new octavia?

its a double din space. The adapter plates is a bit, well, low quality. I have one in mine. You may also need a can-bus wiring adapter, which cost me
