Octavia MK4 Stop/Start Settings

Featured Replies

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I am getting rather frustrated with the Stop/Start system on my Octavia mk4 VRS Automatic. Why oh why did Skoda in there infinite wisdow decide to stick the button to turn the Stop/Start off in the infotainment system and not give it a physical button (as per the mk3 3.5).

Does anyone have any info on getting this system to memorise the setting to the OFF position so that I have not got to fumble through th infotainment menus each time I turn the car on?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

No real advice,

but I got my setting reversed (default is off and you have to switch it on if you want it) when I had my car tuned, much better now

If yours is a pre-facelift model, then using the ‘Set’ switch on the left is a quick way to the Stop/Start option.

Also, dragging down from the top of the screen gives access to Favourites, these can be setup to include the Stop/Start options.

For post-facelift cars I understand there are ‘programmable’ virtual buttons on the infotainment screen - this based on what I’ve read, never driven one so can’t confirm.

And I know I harp on about this but don’t forget if it’s a DSG the stop/start can be controlled by how you use your foot brake. Light pressure for no stop/start more pressure to make stop/start kick in.

Correct it is easy on the 4.5 to have the stop start button permanently on the infotainment screen.

Even on the mk4 it's only a swipe and press to do it.
