Skoda Fabia 24 inspection reset

Featured Replies

Hi.

I've had my 24 plate Skoda Fabia serviced at a local garage and now an inspection light keeps coming up on start up. Does anyone know how to reset this?

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Take it back to the servicing garage and politely request that they complete the job.

According to AI.....

To reset the Inspection light on a Škoda Fabia Mk4, turn the ignition off, then press and hold the "0.0" trip reset button while turning the ignition on (don't start the engine); keep holding until the service interval message appears, then release and press the button again to reset the Oil Service, then repeat the whole process (hold button, ignition on, wait) to get to the Inspection Service, release, and press again to reset.....

That appears to be identical procedure to Mk3.

Doesn't/didn't work on my 2019 Polo, I have to use my VCDS to reset it.

Well, I used to have a mk3 Octavia and had it serviced at Skoda but had the same problem as the OP (they forgot to re-set it 🙄). When I took it back, the technician just sat in the car and did some jiggery pokery with buttons to re-set it. I figured this might be the same....

I might have got a bit mixed up re resetting our own Polo as I look after 3 Polos and a Sharan so here now are the directions for resetting the service displays on a January 2019 Polo as per the Owners Manual Edition 11.2017.

The trip reset buttons don't seem to have anything to do with resetting, see S.Shots 1 and 2, may help.

There is the Service (Oil service) to set / reset and the Inspection. They can be set for being due at the same time, or one might have been reset and the other not. So is it just a service light, or is there a service message and an Inspection message. Have the incompetent people reset properly to Variable / Flexible or Fixed Service Interval and the Inspection at the same time to be due at the same time.
