Hi! New owner with a couple of issues!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just got my first Roomster and it's a lovely car to drive. Bought it in Gillingham and the drive back to Southampton gave me no issues. It's a 2009 1.6 SE Tiptronic, petrol, auto.

Got it a few days ago and in hindsight I should have checked when viewing the car, but it had taken 4 hours to get there on a train and I just wanted to get back home!🤦 1 previous owner with full service history at Skoda dealer and it's MOT history is near perfect.

There are a couple of issues I haven't had a chance to look at yet as I've been working and it's dark when I get home. Thought I'd run them by you for any pointers or info.

1) Minor but annoying...the air con has a high pitch whistle when on 1 and 2, but not 3 and 4. Seems to be coming from dash vents.

2) Rear wiper does not work, I can squirt cleaner but the wiper doesn't move.

3) Rear parking sensors not working, when the car is put into reverse, there is an initial beep, then a slightly longer beep of a slightly different tone. But when I reverse up to something, I'm not getting any warning noise.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can give, initial searches on YouTube don't really show much.

Cheers

Matt

I had an issue with my rear sensors which happened quite randomly. I had the initial beep and then a constant beep. I went around the sensors and pushed inwards with a finger which cured the problem. Sometimes wetness can get into the seal.
