2.0 170 4x4 clutch replacement guide?

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anyone who has replaced their clutch help? I'm going to do this myself and would like to understand what needs removing to get the gear box separated and out.

I've got pdf's of the Skoda workshop manuals but I'm keen to remove as little of the car as possible whilst keeping swearing and knuckle scrapes to a minimum when taking the gearbox out!

Has anyone written this up? I've searched the forums but can't spot anything.

I couldnt get Gbox completely out of his fabia but managed to pull it back enough and suspend it to get to clutch. Personally I would also replace slave cyinder while your at it. I use either sachs or luk clutches in general. Not sure if yours is a DMF. Depending on mileage of car and condition of flywheel it may need replacing at same time.

His wasnt to difficult but time consuming and a bit tricky removing drive shafts especially drivers side.Think the 4x4 if its haldex is a bit more complicated.
