00022 Diagnostic code

Featured Replies

Hiya folks 2009 Skoda Octavia Mk2 TSI petrol Estate

New one on me, had the check engine light ping on twice now.

I scanned it with my old vgate VAG scanner and the only code is 00022 motor for warm-air flap centre console right rear (V201) why on earth would that ping the check engine light?

Heaters work fine all the controls and settings work fine even the AC works cleared the code didn’t return for 3 days.

But today it’s pinged back on again so it’s obviously going to be recurring any advice on what the usual culprit is?

Had a quick google and 00022 is coming up as something different. Its a problem with camshaft sensor/wiring/timing/stretched timing chain if fitted which would explain EML. Might be worth getting it scanned with VCDS or a different scanner to make sure. I may be wrong but another scan with a different scanner wouldnt do any harm.

Thanks Alasdair, I’ll get it scanned with a friends setup see what that reports.

If its a timing issue I would be careful how much you drive it until sure. Hope the other scanner picks up something less serious.

Will do it’s a 1.4tsi circa 82k fsh with regular oil changes no untoward noises or any running issues but I know timing chains can be the Bain of many vag engines and something I’ve always been wary of.

Hopefully its as simple as a cam sensor etc. Think you can check chain for stretch with VCDS. A bit above my comfort zone but read its engine measuring block 93 and should read above -5 anything below ie -6 etc would point to stretched chain. Thats with car upto operating temp.
