Columbus RNS510 Language stuck in German.

Featured Replies

Just bought a Skoda Superb MkII Elegance (2011) for my father. Everything is perfect except the Columbus Navigation unit which appear to be stuck in German.

Have gone through the menus (wit the help of google translate)) and tied to set it to English, but it comes back with language could not be loaded. Tried to change it to other languages to see if it was a issue specific to English and same error.

Tried a soft reset by pushing the three buttons on the unit and no joy.

Then went to system menu and tried to reset to factory defaults which seemed to have no effect.

While also in the setup menu I tried to reset all items in the list and that did not work. Then tried each item in the list individually and same result

Next I downloaded and updated the firmware to 5238a and this appears to have worked. I repeated all the steps above and got the same results.

At this point I have no idea what is happening or how to even start to fix this issue. Initially I thought it was a firmware or software issue but surely the firmware update should have fixed that.

I have no idea of whether the hard drive storage is full or any obvious way to see what's on it, but this might be a possibility

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated

typo

NAND in your unit is it overloaded and requires re-formatting. Unfortunately this must be done with service software like CarProg, SetConfig or Martech.

Thanks for the quick reply

So what does that mean for me?

Is this something that only a dealer can fix?

Or is this software available to us mere mortals?

SKDOA dealer will not be able to help, you have to find someone locally who has the tools and can have it slved. If you don't find anyone you can send it to me to Poland and I will handle it..
