Octavia T\C Actuator Valve Failed

Featured Replies

Hi all, i have a Skoda Octavia 1999 1.9TDI with a Garrett VT15 T\C and a couple of months ago i noticed all the ''known to octavia users'' symptoms of power loss etc etc so i took the car for service . People at Skoda didnt find anything . 2 months after the actuator valve broke and now they are asking 1400

We followed this guide on one and it worked a treat.

I'd take an old toothbrush and some suitable cleaning solvent to it.

If you do a search on here for sticking turbo or similar you should find some pictures on how to clean up the variable vane turbos. I have no idea if yours is one of these or not, but it gives you an idea of what to do.

And welcome to briskoda :)

Thanks for all replies , the T\C didnt have a problem as such. The actuator pump has a problem and that thing is factory sealed. Anyway i took a wire cutter and opened it a bit . It seemed like it had a tonn of rust and dirt inside prolly from road mud. I took it out and cleaned it with a carb cleaner and a brush. I ll put it on today and tell u how things worked out. Wish me luck hehe =P. Btw that pump was sold seperately by garrett up untill 2002 since for some x-file reason they sell it together with the T\C unit which brings the price up to 1500£ . My next car will be a Ferrari ....... pay a bit more price but have cheap spare parts =)
