Steering wheel right hand down

Featured Replies

So I have an issue which is bugging the hell out of me, my steering wheel is right hand down about 20 past the hour, this seemed to have been noticeable since I replaced the steering wheel, I honestly can't remember if the old wheel was like that.

I am 99% sure I put the wheel exactly centre after removing the old wheel which was in the same place, I have had tracking done (have seen that some else had tracking done and the settings were incorrect.) so might need to get them checked again.

Yesterday Skoda said they checked the Steering Angle Sensor and they made a slight tweak but still the same from what I can see.

Is there anything else I can do? Remove the wheel and put it on cocked but then setting the SAS might through it out again? Just wondering if anyone else has had this type of issue, and issue after steering wheel swap.

Most tracking places can only be bothered to adjust one tie rod end which means that the road wheels are aligned correctly but the steering wheel ends up offset.

You need to find somewhere that does it properly by centring the rack and steering wheel before adjusting both tie rods.

Cheers for that, will be on the hunt now for that, also 4 wheel laser alignment as well as I am pretty sure the previous place was not

I had the same issue, except it was down on the left. It drove me absolutely insane for months and I spent a small fortune on alignment, realignment and re-realignment. I then inadvertently swapped the two fronts after removing them to clean them properly and it disappeared. This is no guarantee it’ll work for anyone else but it did for me.
