Kessy continually unlocks when leaving

Featured Replies

Kessy has started acting up on me. Sometimes the key fob doesn't work right away (but lock and unlock), and espacially for locking function I need to be out of kessy range. It has also happened several times that when I get out of the car and close the tour, is will start unlocking (I believe) continuously (with hazard lights blinking). This seems to be ongoing until I'm out of kessy range?

Would a faulty door handle switch cause this issues? What else could it be?

I have replaced battery in key fob, and also tried the spare key fob.

Faulty door wire loom. Mine does similar thing and most likely door wires are broken.

Hey i have exactly the same problem (it started like that) now every time i get out of the car it locks itself... it`s crazy.

I rebuild some broken cables in the drivers door before two months. Today i rebuild 3 broken wires on the passenger side, but this didn`t fix the issue. i checked the rear right door. Tomorrow i need to check again the drivers door and the rear left for cable problems. Still... i check with vcds and all doors have normal status open-close and locked-unlocked. Do not know what else to check if the door cables are ok.

Thanks.

I have already replaced the wiring harness on the drivers door. I will check the passenger door wiring.

Hi, Interesting thread, for a couple of years my car has done this occasionally. Get out the car and close the door and the locking goes a bit wild, locking and unlocking maybe 4 - 5 times. Holding the unlock button on the fob seems to get it under control. It can be fine for a while then plays up again. It's been doing it a lot more recently and last weekend I repaired the wiring at the drivers door which were found with the usual broken insulation, chewed wires etc...couple of cables replaced, others heat shrink applied. Been fine all week until today and its started up again. Either my repair is failing or I'm suspicious the drivers door mechanism is faulty. I can close the door almost fully with no problems, but as soon as I click the door shut it then plays up. Suggests this is to do with the microswitches in the latch mechanism ? I'll be checking the wiring again and will also check the other doors but I'm suspicious of the latch.

Anyone replaced the latch mechanism ?

Wiring loom going to the passenger door is probably the cause. I will have them replaced. 😀

Hi, i checked the drivers door wiring harness and there are no damaged cables.

Checked again with VCDS and all doors are signalling correct when are open, closed, locked and unlocked.

Strange finding: In VCDS there are several ID-sensor (1,2,3 and 4) authentication statuses, but i have information only on number 2. Is this normal?

Here is what we monitor when i get out of the car and close the door.

What i can monitor to see which actuator is wrong. Or how to read the trigger information? What triggered the lock? In the last screen the trigger code is 01 and i do not know what is this?

So I have replaced the wiring loom for the passenger side front door, but I still have the same issue.

This mostly happens when I'm close to the passenger side doors. Today when I approached the passenger side rear door it started to lock continually.
