Mk1 fabia windows not working

Featured Replies

Hello all, on my mk1 fabia the front windows were intermittent and now completely stopped working, I’ve seen some old forums saying it’s the window motor pcb board that fails, and the drivers side motor also powers the passenger side however if I disconnect my drivers window motor and take the key out of the ignition the passenger side window works, then when all plugged back in nothing no windows, I can’t work that out any suggestions thanks.

And the part number on my drivers side motor is (6Y2959802) I’ve also seen the motor with an (A) on the end does that matter.

Thanks in advance IMG_2598.jpeg

The drivers side also controls passenger so no idea why passenger works when drivers is disconnected and key is out of ignition. My sons mk1 was intermittent then failed completely and Breezy Pete on here repaired the drivers motor/controller for me. Excellent quick service. Maybe ping him a message if he doesnt see this post.

Passenger side can work from its own switch for 10 minutes after first powered up (refitting its fuse, or reconnecting car battery) but after that if it doesn't get any communication from driver's side motor module, it goes to sleep.

I will message you @OG-Skoda since you don't have enough posts yet to send a message.
